Um hello? Long time no write eh? I just checked the last time I published a blog post and it’s been 3.5 months lol. Sorry, not sorry for that. Taking the time off has been well and truly needed, what with the pressure of my final year of uni exams, dissertation and portfolio. It’s been a long one. But I’m back now! She says.
Anyways, to end this sudden hiatus I figured it would be best to write a sort of diary style post of the latest goings-on. Because obviously I haven’t just been sleeping the past few months – although I’m sure no one would be surprised. P.S thank you to my good pal Becky for these photo of me! A babe and a half.
Starting things with the most obvious change in my life. I finished uni! I’ve been busy working away at revision, exams, my dissertation and a portfolio. So you could say I may have been a tad stressed; but that’s all over now. Yep, the past three years have flown by and that is the end of that chapter. And potentially the end of my education. After being in full time education for the past 17 years, it comes as no surprise I’m feeling a little lost. I’ve been asking myself for a while now the big What Next, but surprise surprise I’m just as clueless as ever. For now, it’s summer.
Happiness and friendship
This year, 2018, has been one of my favourite years so far I think. And I largely hold that responsible to no longer taking my contraceptive pill. I’d only been on my pill (progesterone only) for about 2 and a half years, and coming off it was something I had debated often. On the one hand I was no longer having insane period pains but on the other I was constantly ignoring what I knew about altering your bodies hormones. Anyways long story short, I stopped taking it at the start of the year and not to be dramatic, but it was like slowly stepping out of the fog. I’ve noticed a huge change in myself; I’m more confident, outgoing, interested and if I do say so myself, a bit funnier if not a little savage. Oops. Yes I definitely get myself into more trouble this way, but I am more myself than ever and it feels great. Because of this I’ve been spending more time with my friends, making memories and having fun. So despite the stress and long hours in the library, this has made the past few months my best term of uni ever. No regrets.
For those who follow me on insta, you may have seen I’ve been having a little love affair with HUJI. It’s even how I created these photographs (duh). I looove the effect it gives images, with the instant zero effort filter, making me want to capture moments more often than usual. Any ordinary everyday life thing suddenly looks cool and interesting once you slap a bit of HUJI on it. Fact. I’ve also been getting into instagram storying again recently, thanks to an app called Unfold. This allows you to add a bit more creativity to your posts, layering images and adding text. Super trendy right now amongst the blogging world. Very cool. Very handsome. I like it.
And lastly, since I’m running out of things to write lol. The new season and extra sunshine seems to have inspired my inner stylist. After shedding my top coat layer and revealing my midriff, I’m feeling excited by clothes again. I love fashion and always try to wear outfits I love but even more so lately. I’m really into putting together looks and photographing/documenting my ootds both for my own self or insta hehe. So I’m hoping some of these looks will make it onto here. Who knows. But peep this outfit in these photos; £14 vintage shop jeans, platform vans, blue lens sunglasses and a cropped tee with yellow bralette poking underneath. Issa look.
So that’s it. A nice little brain dump. Hope you enjoyed, stay tuned for more soon.
