Summer Bronze Babe

It’s been a hot minute since I last spoke makeup on here. I’m almost embarrassed to say it was January. And tbh I still use a lot of the products mentioned in that post, but as we’ve moved into warmer climates I find myself reaching towards a particular genre of makeup.

Cream products.

Yeah, that’s it. Groundbreaking I know.

I’m reaching less towards my powder makeup and more towards the creamy, melty textures. I love being able to smudge and go in the mornings. Products which blend into the skin effortlessly creating a natural but super glowy sun kissed look. Summer Bronze Babe – if you will.

We obviously can’t talk Summer Bronze Babe without talking bronzers…

Although technically not a bronzer, the Clinique Chubby Stick is quite possibly the easiest contour ever. Swiped on and blended seamlessly into the skin with a damp beauty blender or a good brush, like this baby. A god send for days when I’m feeling extra bougie. This also makes a pretty good cream eyeshadow, a perfect subtle but still there shade… my eyelids but better? Should this be a thing?

A real bronzer on my radar this summer and every summer is the Nars Laguna Liquid Bronzer. Like liquid sun it bronzes up the skin effortlessly. The texture of this product makes it super buildable, depending how wild you’re feeling. With a beaut golden shimmer throughout it’s perrrrfect for a minimal product face on lazy days (which is of course, everyday).

We also can’t talk creamy, glowy, glossy makeup without a nod to Glossier…

And of course – haloscope. Topaz is still my go to quick dewy highlight, despite the heatwave melting this baby a couple times. She’s still going strong, if not better than ever.

Cloud paints. Once you go cream blush, it’s pretty life changing, so of course I have a billion shades. And of course I always reach for Dusk. Although I have to say Dawn makes an excellent orange eyeshadow, especially if you’re too wimpy to put it on your cheeks like I am. A tiny bit dabbed on and blended out with your fingers and you’re good to go, easy peasy and buildable if you’re brave. This juicy blush takes you looking from dead to somewhat alive real quick. But I definitely have my eye on the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Liquid Blushes next…

And since this post is all about bronzing, sculpting, glowing and everything good in this world…

What better time to talk about my recent new favourite purchases. Going back on everything I just said about cream products, the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow is a powder dream. But lol this is not cheap. In fact I just googled it and am slightly shook I own it. I was definitely caught in a moment of weakness. But you bet I’m using this as often as possible to help me forget. Perfect for setting the cream products in place and adding extra depth to your sculpt and highlight. Definitely worthy of your attention and uh… overdraft.

Another Char Tils creamy product I’m digging lately is the Colour Chameleon eyeshadow stick in Amber Haze. Made to supposedly intensify brown eyes, this is a super quick smokey shadow. Scribble on, blend out with a fluffy brush or fingers and you’re done. I’m all about easy makeup this summer.

And that’s about it you Summer Bronze Babes. Ain’t nobody got time for powder products this season… well unless it’s Charlotte Tilbury of course!
