A Silver Wedding Anniversary

On the 21st September my Aunt and Uncle celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. In an age of divorce I think it’s truly amazing to be married for so long. My aunt and uncle have both been through a lot in their time and always get through it together.

Marriage goals.

To mark the occasion they decided to throw a vintage themed tea party with all their friends and family. This truly was a family event with each person being involved in organising a part of it. My mum arranged the flowers from everyone’s gardens, one of my uncles made the cake stands and my nan made the cakes. Everyone else also made the sandwiches and searched for months before the occasion for tea cups and saucers.

The room was decked out in table clothes, pom poms and bunting giving a true vintage feel. Tea, coffee, prosecco and pink lemonade was served along with the FOOD. We had sandwiches, vol-au-vents, scones with clotted cream and homemade jam, homemade cakes and fruit tarts.

By the end we were all stuffed to the brim!

As my aunt and uncle are big Northern Soul fans there was a dj playing this all day. I always associate this music with them so for me this is sort of nostalgic in a way.

It was just great to see my family again and spend time with them before going back to uni again. To me, there’s nothing better and I can’t wait for their 50th wedding anniversary!  Haha

Who doesn’t love a good cream tea?
