An ode to Netflix

dominos and netflix

Oh netflix
My love, my joy
You’re always there
An answer to my prayer
On a dark, cold night
Your screen so bright
Best paired with food
You know my mood
You make me laugh, you make me cry
I’ll always say hi and never goodbye
How many years have we been together?
It seems like forever
Shared with my sis
You bring so much bliss
Although I sometimes stray to Prime and 4OD
You’re always waiting for me
To come back to you
My one, my only
Netflix

Looool but in all seriousness I do love Netflix. Growing up I was always obsessed with watching TV. So much so that my dad had to cancel our Disney channels in the hopes me and my sister wouldn’t want to watch TV anymore. Sadly it didn’t work and the love is still strong. But instead of live TV, I’m all about the box sets and movies.

As mentioned in the poem, I do also watch Amazon prime, 4OD and BBC iPlayer for Eastenders – I do have a TV license, don’t worry! But Netflix is my OG. I’m really into watching tv series, more so than movies lately and my to-watch list has been growing non stop. Currently I’ve been desperately trying to watch the entire 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls before the new season comes out later this month. 5 seasons down, 2 to go!

On my to watch list (so far):

  • The Get Down
  • The Crown
  • Black Mirror
  • How To Get Away With Murder season 2

Film wise – of course I’m loving Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging. This is one of my all time favourite films, I could watch it everyday, no matter how old I get. And our uni house movie is The Other Woman – if we ever watch a film together, this is our go to. We also quote this film a lot… 50 times?!

I’m definitely in hibernation mode and want to order food and lay snuggled up in bed watching netflix all day. This is my ultimate treat and where I wanna be. Especially as it’s getting dark earlier and colder outside, just give me a blanket and Netflix and I’m happy.

What are you watching on netflix?

Thank you for reading,
LindyC
